Fall/Winter 2020
We have had an incredible year so far with more than doubling our intake of wildlife in need of our care. This has been matched with amazing help both with food and monetary support whether it was through the online auctions or from private donations. All have made our job a lot easier. We also had two great youth grant workers in for a part of the season and both young ladies were awesome and worked very hard while they were here. Hoping we will be able to hire more next year and for longer.
We have also made a dent in our pen constructions thanks to some major donations of manual labor from both the Wolf Family and Lindemann family along with Duane Winkler who donated pens.

Undulate Pen (deer, moose, elk)
The first phase will be made with recycled wooden pallets with the hopes of only having to buy the poles. With support from our community we are hoping to collect 300 + pallets and applying for grants plus donations for the posts, auger rental and trailer. The cost for posts, auger rental and trailer come to just over $2000. Thank you to Saskatchewan Eco Grants for donating $500 towards this pen, to Moosomin Flamans for donating one of their flatbeds for hauling pallets, to a private number of people who hauled pallets, to Harald and Rori Mogstad who worked beside me hauling pallets along with putting this whole phase one together. Phase one of the undulate pen is complete.
Medium Mammal (raccoon) and Raptor Pen
This will be a well built and fortified building with floors for easy sterilization potential along with being very secure to hold very intelligent wildlife. It will be 12ft x 24ft x 12ft high at a cost of $10,418.08. We have $1000.00 saved with plans to run various fundraisers to assist us.
Thanks to Duane Winkler for the donation of our medium mammal pen.
Mammal Pen
This is another needed pen that will be used for a variety of mammals in care from foxes to porcupines with also being possible to be used for our crows, ravens and some raptors depending who is in care at the time.
Cost of this one is between labor and supplies is $8, 432.00 Thank you to the Lindemann family for assisting us in the building of this phase one of the unit, we hope to add another 8 feet on to the pen in the spring but it did hold foxes this year.
Large Raptor Flight Pen
This is our dream flight pen which will hold up to 4 eagles, 4 owls, 6 hawks at any given time. Numbers will vary depending which raptors we have in care. So far the cost estimate is sitting about $80,000 but may go up or down depending on the supply costs at the time of purchase. We have $1000 sitting in the Lrg flight pen saving acct. Building size is 75ft x 100ft x 16
