Silverwood Wildlife Rehab
It has been a long journey getting to this point in time where we are ready and able to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife. I have wanted to work with animals since a very young age. My career plans in high school and after graduation were to take Zoology so that my life would revolve around animals. University presented different challenges that seemed to end my dreams. Life took me another direction as I became a mother and began my journey into Holistic health care. For 20 years I worked in the health field as a massage therapist and craniosacral therapist. I have also been trained in more natural traditional earth healing techniques plus energy techniques. To this day I continue as a Homeopath, Craniosacral practitioner, Reiki Master, Chios Energy Master and a Holistic Health Therapist. I use herbs, homeopathic remedies, organotherapy and energy work to help people and animals. 6 years ago I began my journey back into the world of wildlife while volunteering at a wildlife rehab about half hour from us. The last year there I worked almost full time caring for wildlife from dietary, cleaning and feeding. Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to step back from my role and focus on family and clients.
In the spring 2018, I began to work towards building our own wildlife rehab. Lots of hoops and loops for permits and deep discussions with family led to having full support from my family and community. We have our Federal and Provincial permit for migratory birds, water fowl, and a wide variety of mammals plus raptors. We are working closely with Wildlife Rescue Society of Saskatchewan and their amazing hotline volunteers to reach as many orphaned or injured wildlife doing our best to make sure all get to where they need to be for help.
